Why concrete fails

Water

Downspouts and poor slope wash out the sand base underneath.

Roots

Live oak and other tree roots lift slabs over time.

Poor base

Loose or organic fill settles under the slab.

Overload

Slabs too thin for the trucks, RVs, or equipment they carry.

Our repair approach

  1. 01Diagnose the cause: drainage, roots, base, or load.
  2. 02Saw-cut the failed sections cleanly at joints where possible.
  3. 03Fix the cause: regrade, reroute downspouts, and remove or barrier roots (with an arborist where needed).
  4. 04Recompact the base, dowel into existing slabs where appropriate, and pour.

Questions

Will the new section match the old concrete?

New concrete is lighter at first and weathers over time. We match finish and texture closely, but a color difference is normal. Replacing whole panels between joints looks best.

Can't you just fill the cracks?

Hairline cracks can be sealed. Cracks with height differences or ongoing movement usually come back, so replacement is the lasting fix. We'll tell you honestly which applies.

Fix the trip hazard for good.
